As the name says, Hatzor International will start tomorrow in Kibutz Hatzor, Israel. It is the first tournament in Israel for Ksenia Polikarpova since she is representing the country.

A lot is expected from her as well: She is first seeded in women’s singles. But Polikarpova takes this expectation with pleasure and pride.

— It is very important to have an international tournament in your own country. It supports players to pursue a professional career in Badminton.

— I hope my participation and results give possibilities to improve this motivation and develops badminton in Israel.

Israel hopes

Polikarpova faces the first round a younger compatriot: Noa Buller of only sixteen years. Polikarpova plays women’s doubles as well and also faces Buller in this event.

Besides Polikarpova, Israel has her hopes up for a men’s doubles pair: Shai Geffen and Yonathan Levit. They are also first seeded and face Peter Roenn Stensaeth/Mattias Xu (Norway) in the first round.

Also fourth seeded Daniel Chislov and Alexander Bass could make the Israeli audience proud. This pair has more experience and might use it in their advantage.
