Two strong Polish pairs are among the many great wins in the Round of 16 in the ORLEN Polish Open 2023.

The quarterfinals of the ORLEN Polish Open 2023 have just kicked off in Tarnów. We move swiftly from a busy morning to some great matches whose results will show who will be the medallists for this edition.

There were several noteworthy performances, and some worth highlighting were those of the Polish athletes.

The unseeded duo of Dominika Kwasnik/ Kornelia Marczak got off to a great start in the late hours of last night with a win in straight games for their opening match. It was a similar result for the Polish duo earlier today who defeated Italy’s Martina Corsini/ Judith Mair, fourth seeds, 21-15 21-19.

The host country of the tournament will also have representation with another duo, as Milosz Bochat/ Robert Cybulski have also won their Round of 16 match. The Polish pair faced Norway’s Torjus Flaatten/ Vegard Rikheim, fifth seeds, whom they had last met in the 2023 European Mixed Team Qualifications.

That match went to three games and saw the Norwegian pair winning but this time, Bochat/ Cybulski got the victory on home soil in straight games.

When are the semifinals and finals?
While the quarterfinals are currently underway, the semifinals and finals will be taking place tomorrow, Sunday 26 March.

The semifinals will be starting at 09.00am (CET) and the finals from 01.00pm (CET).
