Felix Burestedt has won his first match at the RSL Swedish Open. In total, eight CoE players have made their way to Lund to participate in the event.

21-9 and 21-8 – that is the final result of Felix Burestedt’s first match in Lund.
The Swede won straight against his opponent from Romania, Collins Valentine Filimon.

— It is nice to play at home. I felt like I was playing well and my attacks were successful. I think it was the perfect first match, Burestedt said after the match.

Now, in Round 2, Burestedt has to face Adrian Dziolko from Poland. The match will begin around 7.00 PM (CET).

Next to Burestedt, seven other CoE players are participating in the event in Lund: Gerda Voitechovskaja, Sander de Decker, Lilit Poghosyan, Elena Diordiev, Jonathan Dolan, Shaun Enkengren and Alexander Rydström.

— This tournament is good for the development of each individual player. As one of the first tournaments after the holidays, it is a good practice, the CoE coach, Kestutis Navickas, said.

When it comes to Felix Burestedt’s performance in Lund, so far, Novickas is optimistic:

— We have big goals for Felix. But we are also looking a bit further: We work hard to improve his play, but also the ones of all other CoE players.
